Reps for Teams

Improve how your team sells.

Your team’s real calls show what is actually happening. Coaching goes where it matters most, each rep trains the exact weakness, and later real calls decide whether it held.

Two need you this week. Three do not.

The missing step

What happens to that correction next?

You listen to a call. You find the thing that cost them. You say it clearly in the 1:1, and they take it well. Then the week starts, and the next real call arrives.

  1. Real call
  2. Issue found
  3. 1:1 / coaching
  4. Targeted trainingThe missing step, which this page names as targeted training
  5. Next real call

Understanding a correction and executing it live are not the same state.

1

Understands it.

The rep can tell you what they should have done differently.

2

Can do it.

They can execute it in practice, unaided, against a buyer who pushes back.

3

Can do it live.

It appeared on a real call, with a real buyer and real money on it.

Nothing here is proven until it survives a real buyer.

Targeted training is the step most development loops are missing. The question is how a manager runs that loop across a whole team, every week, without it depending on remembering.

The Team Performance Cycle

How the loop runs across a team.

Five stages, and the fifth returns to the first. It is a cycle because a sales team is never finished. Something else becomes the constraint the moment the last one stops being it.

Stage 1

Establish Real Team Performance

Development starts from real selling activity, not from results alone and not from practice scores. Your team's actual calls come in and the execution behind them becomes visible.

  1. 1

    Establish Real Team Performance

Development starts from real selling activity, not from results alone and not from practice scores. Your team's actual calls come in and the execution behind them becomes visible.

  2. 2

Focus Coaching Where It Matters Most

Ten things could be better across a team. That does not mean all ten deserve Tuesday morning. Reps surfaces who needs attention and on what; you decide whether it is worth yours.

  3. 3

Coach & Train the Exact Weakness

A diagnosis that stops at a dashboard changes nothing. The 1:1 produces a training prescription, and the rep does specific work aimed at the specific weakness.

  4. 4

    Prove It on Real Calls

The system returns to live customer conversations and asks the only question that matters: did the trained behavior actually show up when it counted?

  5. 5

    Fix the Next Bottleneck

It transferred, so you move to what is costing the team most now. It came back, so it reopens. Either way the loop turns, because performance does not stay still.

You stay the manager the whole way through.

  1. Reps surfaces
  2. Manager inspects
  3. Manager decides
  4. Manager coaches
  5. Rep trains
  6. Real calls show what happened
01

Real performance becomes a team you can read.

Calls come in and turn into something a manager can act on: who is practising, who is drifting, and who needs nothing from you this week.

You can see what sits behind the signal.

A flag is a place to look, not a verdict. The evidence behind it opens up, in the rep’s own words from their own calls, before you decide anything.

The real call

The original conversation. The lead-up and the exact moment it broke are marked below.

The “Mondays are chaos” aside was never explored.

The buyer volunteered their pain and the call moved to pitch instead. The “I need to think about it” twenty minutes later was created here.

Six. Honestly, Mondays are chaos, but we manage.

Got it. So let me walk you through how the program is structured…

03

Coaching becomes specific work.

The 1:1 ends in a training prescription rather than advice. The rep practises the exact weakness, against buyers configured around what you actually sell.

What you wrote

What moment do you want them to practise?

The buyer goes quiet right after you say the price. Not the objection, the pause before it.

What does the buyer say or do?

They go quiet, then say something flat like “right, okay.” That flatness is the flinch.

What should a good rep do instead?

Say the number, then stop. Don’t explain it. Let the silence do the work.

What counts as blowing it?

They fill the gap. Any discount, any justification, any nervous extra sentence.

Buyer’s opening line

“…right, okay.”

Lose condition

You fill the gap. You fail even if the deal closes.

Your words, not ours. You edit every field before it goes live, and nothing publishes until you say so.

04

Later real calls decide what happened.

Every rep sits in one of five states, and only one of them counts as transfer. When there is not enough evidence yet, the system is allowed to say so.

2

Transferred to real calls

At least one trained skill showed up on their real calls.

1

Weakness came back

A skill they trained came back on a later real call.

1

Not moved yet

Enough real calls to judge, and nothing has moved yet.

1

Too early to tell

Not enough real calls either side of training to say yet.

0

Not started training

They have not started training a skill.

Proof is built from real recorded calls, never from practice.

What it asks of you

Four things stay yours. The rest does not.

  1. Read what Reps surfaced. Who moved, who stalled, who needs nothing.
  2. Decide who gets your attention. The system suggests. You choose.
  3. Have the conversation. The one you were going to have anyway.
  4. Say what they should work on. Reps turns that into the actual drills.

Everything after that runs without you: writing the practice, assigning it, chasing it, watching the real calls that follow, and telling you what happened. You are not administering a system. You are reading it and making calls.

If you already coach this way, the parts that ate the week are the parts that stop: finding the moment, building the drill, remembering to follow up. If you don’t, that list above is the whole job.

REPSMonthly team report

Guided preview

See the system from the inside.

A guided walk through what a manager actually sees: the team view, one rep, the training that follows, and what later calls said about it. It opens as its own page.

Practice is not proof

The real buyer is the test.

Practice is worth doing. A rep who can hold the line against a hard practice buyer is more prepared than one who cannot. It just does not answer the last question on its own.

  2. Not proven yet
  3. Later real call
  4. Did it show up live?

Practice mastered

Drilled until they could run it without help. This is where most training stops.

Real‑call verified

The same skill then showed up on their own recorded customer calls. This is the only thing we claim.

  • Completed your Skill Ranking baseline
  • Started training this skill
  • Real calls from before you trained it
  • Drills finished on this skill
  • Real calls since you trained it

Every line has to be true before the verdict changes. Until then it reads Measuring, not “improved”.

  • Transferred to real callscounts as proof

The trained behavior showed up in later real customer conversations.

  • Weakness came back

It held for a while, then returned. The system can say so and reopen it.

  • Not moved yet

There is enough later evidence, and the behavior has not sufficiently changed.

  • Too early to tell

There is not yet enough eligible real-call evidence to answer. That is allowed to stand.

  • Not started training

The work has not begun, so there is nothing to verify.

And when it doesn’t hold

Trained once is not fixed forever.

A skill can transfer and then quietly stop. Reps keeps watching the real calls after the verdict, and flags it the day it comes back, to the rep and to you.

Discoveryfollowed across one rep’s real calls

The flag goes to the rep and to their manager the same day, not at the end of the quarter, and not only when someone thinks to look.

A practice score, a rank, a completed drill or a manager’s confidence are all useful. None of them is the same as the behavior appearing on a later real call.

Honest fit

Not every sales problem is a rep problem.

If the nearest cause is lead supply, the offer, pricing, the product, the territory or the market, training the reps is not the first thing to fix. Reps helps with the part your reps control.

  • An active sales team

Teams needs a managed team context to work inside.

  • Recurring real customer conversations

Both the starting picture and later verification need live calls.

  • Manager-led development

Reps supports the manager. It does not replace the manager.

  • Rep-controlled execution matters

Training cannot fix what sits outside the rep's control.

  • Usable real-call evidence

Diagnosis and later proof both depend on calls you can legally use.

The next step

Evaluate Reps for your team.

Real calls → focus → coach & train → prove live → repeat

A conversation about how your team is developed today, whether the problem you have is one Reps can actually help with, and what would sensibly follow if it is. If it is not a fit, that is a legitimate answer and you will get it on the call.

  • Seats are quoted per team. You get the number on the call, not after a proposal cycle.
  • If you are not the person who signs, this page and that call are both built to be forwarded.
  • Coach Drills is included with team accounts. Your own method, written as the drills your reps run.
  • No spreadsheet import and no SSO yet. Every seat is invited one email at a time.

Book the fit conversation

Thirty minutes. We look at how your team sells today and tell you honestly whether this fits. If it doesn't, we'll say so.
